Using Public IP Settings
When you buy a virtual machine in the cloud, you may or may not want that machine to be accessible from the public internet. Some cloud service providers assign one IP address per virtual machine by default, which can in certain instances be a waste of IP addresses and mean wasted time for you spent disabling those IP addresses, or firewalling them on the OS.
In the Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC), we use a system for Public IP addressing which means you can service as many as 254 virtual machines from a single IP address.
For more information on how you can control your Public IP settings in the Interoute Virtual Data Centre, please see this step by step user guide.
